russel wood and company...

let me be clear about some of my rants and raves...they are, for the most part...not directed to my former manager russel wood...do not get me wrong...he was no angel...and would be the first to say so...but what he was...was an exception to the magbiz rules...he never stuffed vanloads of kids in tired, beaten vehicles...tried to hire good, honest agents...and happily rewarded them with brand new wheels...and kept money in their pocket...if they were first...LOYAL...second...tried...and third...did not steal from anybody...my rants...and negative posts...and many of them exist around the web...are almost exclusively aimed at the modern era magcrews that hire, fire, and are abusive to unproductive agents...and far too many of those continue to run around unabated...russel and i had our falling outs...but i can say we settled our differences without the violence that typifies so many other crews...nuff said for the moment....getabunch...

places i went...

we literally covered the 48 states...from new york...to florida...california and north to washington, my home growing up...i remember the kona kai in va beach (now defunct)...the golden nugget in miami beach (much more habitable in the late 70s)...griswolds inn in los angeles...to places like the exec inn on colfax in denver...to the flying dutchmen in detroit...where we saw one of the funniest comedians EVER... all paid for by my old manager russel wood...he let me drive his stutz bearcat on our jump to denver with 3 of the prettiest girls on crew...when i was new...we seemed to connect somehow...he had money...and i wanted some...
